Matthew Jack Leach was born on June 22, 1991 in Taunton, England, and participated in all the Taunton in Trinity School, Bishop Fox School and Richard Huish College. They were employed to park a trolley in a branch of Sainsbury’s Supermarket in Taunton. At the age of 14, Leach was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

Before signing a professional contract with Somerset, Leach graduated from Somerset County Cricket Club Academy in the summer of 2010. Leach represented the Dorset Country Cricket Club in the 2010 Minor County Championship , and bowled on his side by making a 6/21 lead in the second innings to win the final against Lincolnshire.

Leach completed his degree in Cardiff at the University of Wales Institute, Sports Coaching. Cardiff represented MCCU in 2011 and 2012 while participating in the league and started his first class against his country side Somerset in March 2012, bowling at 41 overs but Somervatset took 642/3 D to take wickets and take wickets Failed.

Leach made his Somerset debut in the two-day match against South Africa in July 2012, claiming Hashim Amla’s wicket. On 14 February 2018, while playing for the England Lions against West Indies A, Leach achieved match figures of 8-110: in doing so, he beat the previous best figures by an England Lions spinner (Graeme Swann’s 8-156).

On March 16, 2018, he was called in England’s Test team as replacement for injury for Mason Crane for New Zealand tour. He made his Test debut in Christchurch.

In an unusual situation, with a one over to play during a Test match against Sri Lanka on 15 November 2018, Jack Leach opened the innings of England as a nightwatchman, who survived till the stump. He was dismissed for 1 off 11 balls the next morning.
