Samuel Matthew Curran (born 3 June 1998) is an English cricketer who plays for Surrey England. Curran is a “left-handed batsman” who is bowling on “left-arm medium fast”.
Sam Curran was born on “3 June 1998 in Northampton, Northamptonshire , England”.
His father’s name “Kevin Curran” .He is the brother of England international “cricketer Tom Curran, and cricketer Ben Curran”.
Sam curran was educated at “Springvale House, St. George’s College, Harare, and Wellington College, Berkshire”. He lived on the family farm in “Rusape”, before it was seized under the land reform policy in 2004.
Curran represented Surrey at “Under-15, Under-17, and Second XI level’. During the 2014 season, he represented “Weybridge at Surrey Championship Premier Division”.
All director of cricket, Alec Stewart , described him as”the best 17-year-old cricketer that I have seen”.
Curran made his debut in the “Twenty20 match at The Oval on 19 June 2015” at the age of “17 years” and 16 days at the “NetWest T20 Blast tournament against Kent”.
He made his first class debut in the “County Championship on 13 July 2015 in The Oval against Kent”. At 17 years and 40 days he became the “second youngest first-class cricketer” in history after “Tony Lock”, who debuted exactly 69 years earlier at the age of “17 years and 8 days”, also against Kent at The Oval.
Curran returned figures of “5/101 in the first innings”, and is considered the youngest player to take “five wickets” in the “County Championship match”.
He made his List A debut in a “Royal London One-Day Cup match against Northamptonshire at The Oval on 27 July 2015”.
He was signed by Auckland Aces for the 2017-18 Super Smash.
Curran represented Zimbabwe Under-13s at the 2011–12 CSA Under-13 Week tournament.
He represented England under-19 in the “2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup”, where he played all six games, scored 201 runs and took “seven wickets” and his team remained sixth. He selected for the “2016-17 tour of the United Arab Emirates for England Lions”, and then selected for his match against South Africa A in “Canterbury in 2017 season”.
Curran received his first senior call-up for England in “January 2018” for the “2017-18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series against Australia and New Zeland” , but did not play any games.
On “30 May 2018” he has added to England’s Test squad, ahead of the “second Test against Pakistan”, as cover for Ben Stokes who had injured a hamstring in training. Stokes failed a fitness test on the morning of the game, so Curran made his “Test debut on 1 June”. He took his “first Test wicket by dismissing Shadab Khan”, who caught by “Keaton Jennings”.
On “24 June 2018”, he made his “One Day International debut against Australia” .
In” 2 August 2018 in his second Test”, Curran took the wickets of “India’s top three batsmen” in the batting order (Murali Vijay, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan), as well as Hardik Pandya, on the second day of the first Test match of the series. On the third day of the same match, he top scored with “63 batting at no. 8”, which ultimately kept England in the game.
